70 Days of Weaning: From the beginning
I always planned on weaning between my son’s 2nd and 3rd birthdays, if he had not weaned himself first. Storm is 2 years and 2 weeks old, and we have decided our weaning process officially begins tonight at midnight. If all goes as planned, he will be done breastfeeding by my birthday on April 1st.
The first talk I had with him about this clarity was mixed. He told me he feels sad. I agreed with him. I feel sad too. I told him we would just pay attention to the 
times it is easy to let go of breastfeeding first, and see how that goes.
I heard his daddy talking with him about weaning as well. His daddy said this will be better for all of us. It’s true. We saw our Ayurvedic doctor today, and she assessed the family situation as well as our individual needs. It’s time, and we have 70 days to do it. Here we go!
